French Sugar Parisian Upcycled Tank-Top - $48.00

Primrose Top

I love the soft and lovely colors of this tank so it was so very easy to see how this would end up as this beutiful garment. Once a t-shirt - now a tank with soft taupe colored cotton lace at the bottom. I took the left-over fabric and cut one-inch strips, ruffled them and put them on the shoulder-straps. Lovely! You can find this adorable top at my Etsy shop. Enjoy!

French Sugar presents: 1960's MOD Oscar De La Renta Two-piece Coat and Dress - $165.00

1960's Oscar De La Renta

Button down the back dress!

Imagine my surprise when I found out this was a "Oscar De La Renta"!
I was first attracted to it for the bright and vibrant colors and then I realized it was linen - which is my most favorite fabric. But when I saw the label, I think I stopped breathing for a minute or two!
Growing up in the 60's, I immeadiately knew when this dress was made - it had all the classic details of that time period!  OH, what a find and I hope you enjoy viewing it and if you're lucky, to maybe own it. I just posted it up on my Etsy Shop!
Bright colors!

French Sugar Parisian Upcycled Tattered Chic Tank - $74.00

Tattered Chic!
I really adore how this top turned out!
The fabric was a skirt I found last Summer. When I find a print I love I'm very thoughtful about what I want to do with it. I want to make sure it's upcycled into a garment that will really stand-out. So when I came across this petal pink chiffon rose applique - I knew right away that these two pieces of rescued items would be perfect for each other. The garment has just been posted on Etsy. Enjoy!

French Sugar Parisian Upcycled Cream Jacket with Embellishments - $120.00

This little jacket is a perfect example of what can be done. I see this garment as a blank canvas - just waiting for the "goodies" to be added! It's a cream-colored corduroy with a contrasting taupe colored thread. So that's the color I went with for the embellishment. Originally the jacket had the normal collar but it had a detail of a scooped neck. So I just removed everything above the scooped neck. I was lucky to find a stretchy net top with two layers that had a black flower design on it in black thread. So I used that as the fabric for the jacket embellishment. Nice about stretchy netting - you don't have to hem it and it doesn't frey. The fabric on the two front pockets were actually the cap sleeves of the blouse I used. When things fall into place like that - I truly belive they were meant to be! The only part of the jacket that was sewn by machine was the neck area.  All else was done by hand - but nice, I got to watch a lot of TV!
This garment is on it's way to "Altered Couture" magazine for the photoshoot for upcoming issues.  If you're interested, just let me know. However, it will take 2-3 weeks to have the garment returned and then shipped to you.  I'll be posting this on Etsy later this month.  Enjoy!

French Sugar Parisian Upcycled Crocheted Dress - $135.00

Upcycled Crochet Dress

Crochet Ribbon

The last time I crocheted anything was back in the 70's! But you know, it's like riding a bicycle - it all comes back to you!  LOL!  Evenutally!!!!
Layers of Crochet
This all started with this simple beautiful crocheted white top. I wanted to make it into an ensemble over a vintage slip AND to be able to wear it by itself. So I added crocheted strips of ribbon fringe on the bottom and then crocheted small little flower disks.
In regards to the vintage slip. I chose a pale peach color that looks wonderful under white - very flesh-tone so it gives an elusion. I crocheted a six inch portion to match the same pattern as the top and attached it by hand to the bottom of the slip. The middle portion was actually resqued from a linen skirt. I took that an attached it to the vintage slip. Then on the bottom of the slip I attached a vintage pleated nylon lace from another vintage slip.  I love the over-all look. Had some left-over fabric from the trim and made it into a small rose and put a pin-enclosure on the back.
In regards to the top being worn by itself, say over a pair of blue-jeans, I crocheed a large white flower, as shown in the last picture.  I really did have a lot of fun with this garment even though it was very time-consuming - got to watch a lot of TV!
Currently this garment is on it's way to "Altered Couture" Magazine for a photo-shoot for one of their up-coming issues. If interested in this garment, I can have it back here to ship-out in three weeks.
Just By Itself!

French Sugar Parisian Upcycled Tank-top "Chardonnay" - $48.00

"Chardonnay"
I have so many of these adorable shirts that I believe are "works-of-art" in their own right. So I'm always looking to incorporate them into different garments. Recently, as posted, I've been using them for beret's. But I wanted to do something a little different so this garment is my most recent creation. They're lite and a breeze to wear but have a little "sass" to them. I adore the cotton net lace along the bottom and at the neck. Enjoy!  I've just posted "Chardonnay" at my Etsy shop. PLEASE NOTE: This top is currently on it's way to "Altered Couture" Magazine for a photo-shoot.

French Sugar Parisian Leopard Halter Top - $52.00

Sometmes I run across a fabric that I just have to have! This fabric is one of them. I could only imagine it as this garment and so here is the result. I love this because it's so adjustable. It has the tie running thru the top so you can put the bow either on the side or in the back. It also simply ties in the back at the bottom. The fabric is so beautiful and so soft to the touch so it will be a dream to wear! Just love this and it's now available at my Etsy shop. Enjoy!

French Sugar Parisian Upcycled Lace Top - $63.00

Cute top but the fancy part was in the back with the black lace insert - so I just embellished it in the front and on the bottom. By adding black lace to the bottom, it extended the length and gave a softer look to it. And of course, on the straps, I added more goodies of lace and roses. But what gives this top it's edgy look is the black beading draped across the front. This item was just posted on my Etsy shop. Enjoy!

French Sugar Parisian Upcycled Bolero Jacket - $64.00

I adore white eyelet fabric. Nothing speaks Spring and Summer than "eyelet". When I see it, all sorts of idea's pop into my head. This is a perfect example. Originally starting out as a long-sleeved button-down blouse, it slowly transformed itself into this precious bolero jacket.  It all started with the crocheted ecru colored collar which has tiny little white pearls crocheted into it. On the collar I attached two pieces of vintage French lace. On the bottom are are two layers of lace. Top layer is ecru and underneath, creamy white see-thru lace. I made sure to trim out the edge of the short sleeves. So perfect and you can find this at my Etsy Shop. Enjoy!

French Sugar Parisian Soft White Cover-Up - $57.00

This lovely top was so easy to change over to a beautiful cover-up top. The bottom had a large piece of rouching on the bottom. I simply cut it off, and saved the rouching for another project. Then I took this absolutely gorgeous "tear-drop" white cream lace and attached it to the bottom where the rouching was. Whala! Now it can be worn over a vintage slip, tank top or cami. Think about the possiblities - you can use it as a cover-up over a sphagetti dress in the evening. So adorable and the fabric is so soft and comfy!  Just posted this to my Etsy shop.
Enjoy!

French Sugar Parisian Upcycled Reversible Beret and Matching Bag - $62.00

I really enjoyed making this because it gave me the opportunity to use this unique fringe that I've been hoarding now for over two years. I new I would find a wonderfull purpose for it - and it was well worth the wait!  The fabric is a stretchy crinkled nylon velvet that was a little girls' dress and it had two style patterns on it. The reverse side of the beret is from a t-shirt and the colors matched so well, like they were meant to be together! I've just posted this ensemble on Etsy. Enjoy!

French Sugar Parisian Midnight Rose Altered Couture Dress - $98.00

This gorgeous creation is created from a number of different parts of other garments. I love that it looks like a vintage garment from the 1920's! It was a blast to make and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. It's now posed on my Etsy shop! Enjoy!
